# AI assistance and source responsibility

EvoWitness was prepared with AI-assisted development, which is allowed by the August Hackathon rules. This document records the intended boundary so reviewers and future maintainers can evaluate the project responsibly.

## Allowed assistance used

AI assistance was used for:

- project planning and scope reduction;
- MoonBit API and module organization suggestions;
- implementation drafts for parser, analyzer, witness evidence and tests;
- README, proposal and review-response drafting;
- local self-review against contest requirements;
- debugging and command-result interpretation.

## Human responsibility

The project is submitted as a single-participant project by `CJR-ai-nb`. The participant is responsible for:

- selecting and maintaining the project boundary;
- reviewing generated code and documentation;
- running the MoonBit toolchain checks;
- ensuring tests exercise the core behavior;
- checking that no private, closed-source or unauthorized third-party code is included;
- publishing and maintaining the Mooncakes package.

## Source and license controls

The repository does not vendor third-party source code, images, fonts, audio, binary fixtures or private datasets. Runtime code depends only on MoonBit standard library modules. Test payloads and contract snippets are synthetic examples written for this repository.

Known neighboring projects are listed in `docs/RESEARCH.md` and `docs/UNIQUENESS.md`. EvoWitness avoids direct code reuse and narrows its scope to minimal compatibility counterexample generation.

## Security and privacy controls

Examples and tests use synthetic JSON payloads. Users should not paste sensitive production payloads into public issues or CI logs. Security reporting guidance is documented in `SECURITY.md`.
