Unicode data retains its original headers. The full Unicode License v3 is in
testdata/ucd/LICENSE.txt. scripts/fetch_ucd.ps1 records SHA-256 hashes and versioned
source URLs. Generated tables identify their source and generator.

## English hyphenation patterns

`testdata/hyphen/hyph-en-us.tex` and generated `hyphen/english.mbt` contain 4,938 American English Liang patterns and 14 exceptions from [hyph-utf8](https://github.com/hyphenation/tex-hyphen/blob/master/hyph-utf8/tex/generic/hyph-utf8/patterns/tex/hyph-en-us.tex), retrieved 2026-09-28. SHA-256 is recorded alongside the source. The algorithm in `hyphen/liang.mbt` is independently implemented.

- `moonbit-community/normalization@0.5.0` and its `moonbit-community/ucd@0.5.0`: Apache-2.0, Unicode 16.0.0 normalization tables.
- Source: https://github.com/moonbit-community/tonyfettes-unicode . These dependencies are used only by the `integration` package; the core layout package does not import them. Module resolution downloads them because MoonBit declares dependencies at module scope.
- No Unicode 17 conformance claim is made for these upstream Unicode 16 primitives. MoonLayout's own UAX #14/#29 data remains Unicode 17.0.0.
